Dr. Georges Aoude is the CEO and co-founder of Derq (Techstars Mobility '17), an MIT spin-off with a mission to eliminate road accidents for both conventional and autonomous vehicles by using artificial intelligence and connected vehicle technology. Dr. Aoude has assembled an all-star multi-disciplinary team that hails from MIT, Georgia Tech, IIT, and McGill, and that has previously worked with leading technology firms and agencies including Ford, Siemens, NASA, and governments in the the United States, Canada, and the Middle East
Dr. Aoude is a transportation and aerospace expert in autonomous and V2X technologies, He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from MIT, where he held leadership positions on projects with NASA, US Navy, and Ford and published his research in leading Aerospace and Intelligent Transportation journals. His satellite research has been tested and validated in the International Space Station. His patented work in autonomous technologies has been featured in the press, including New York Times, Wired, and MIT News.
Dr. Aoude has advised various government and private entities for more than 10 years in North America and the GCC in the fields of transportation and aerospace. He is a board member of the Transportation Research Board Committee on Aviation Economics and Forecasting. He has recently wrote articles advising US government on how to implement drone regulations. His points of view are regularly published in several key outlets including Harvard Business Review, Forbes and Brink. Finally, Dr. Aoude is a board member of the MIT Arab Alumni Organization.
