Ghareeb is a GREM Certified malware analyst with more than 9 years’ experience in the field of cyber security, he worked as a senior security Analyst and incident handler for the Egyptian Computer Emergency Response Team (EGCERT) handling different kind of security incidents and attacks on high profile governmental entities, participated in creating and designing the EGCERT Honey-net project. Ghareeb then established the EGCERT Malware analysis and reverse engineering team where he led the team on analyzing different kinds of malware and Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attacks.
Ghareeb joined Kaspersky lab in 2013 as a Senior Security researcher in the Global Researcher and Analysis Team (GReAT). GReAT is an integral part of Kaspersky Lab’s R&D department, and leads the company’s anti-malware and Threat intelligence research. Within GReAT Ghareeb plays a main role in Tracking advanced threat actors and analyzing malware used in top cyberespionage campaigns.
