Khaled is the Founding Chairman and CEO Tatweer Research www.tatweerresearch.org, founded in 2010, autonomous technology R&D agency - worked through Libya’s civil conflict to deliver:
- Capacity Building Programs, including leadership program for CTOs of Libyan banks and Tatweer Graduate Program (TGP); a one-year bespoke program delivered in conjunction with St John’s Innovation Centre and Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. The documentary of TGP, Young, Clever and Libyan, was broadcast by BBC World in mid-2015.
- Economic Free Zone and Tech City: strategic development of 1,200-hectare Elmrisa Economic Free Zone in eastern Libya for the Elmrisa Free Zone Authority.
- Innovation programs: identifying and promoting key technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, 3D -printing, and nanotechnology; pioneering applications in strategic development sectors: renewable energy, advanced prosthetics, cloud computing.
In addition to his work at Tatweer Research, Khaled is a Founder/investor in numerous technology start-ups in key sectors:
- Technology Infrastructure: with leading technology vendors, developed information and communication technology systems integrator for the Libyan financial sector. Developed customized solutions for the Oil & Gas industry in Libya
Khaled has had his PhD in Authentication and Privacy in Mobile Web Services from City University, London in 2007. He had a stellar academic record which includes a first class Electronic Engineering degree and an MSc in Computing Science from Imperial College London, UK.
